Today is Bruce Springsteen’s 70th Birthday. What do you get a man that has given us so much? How about a collection of Springsteen fans from around the world telling him how much they love him and sharing how much his music has meant to each of them? Sounds perfect, much better than a tie.
Happy Bruce Birthday to each of you. Please share this episode with another Springsteen fan. Please retweet the link and post the link on your social media pages. We want as many Springsteen/Music fans in the world to hear how much the music means to us.
In honor of Bruce’s 70th birthday, I’ve seen several people posting their list of their favorite 70 Springsteen songs. Anytime you pick songs, it is going to be controversial. People will say “I can’t believe you included BLANK and left out BLANK.” The reality is that everyone has a different ear when listening to any artist and Bruce is no different. Here is my list, what would make you top 70? Email me at SetlustingBruce@gmail.com and let me know.
I am in the process of putting together the many voice mails that have been sent in. We have a wonderful diverse set of fans from around the world wishing Bruce Springsteen a happy 70th birthday. I will be posting the episode on Monday morning. I’ll finish editing it on Saturday morning. So if you are a last minute type of fan, please give me a call at (469) 249-2442. Leave your name, where you are from and a message for Bruce.
We are less than a week away from Bruce’s 70th birthday. I’m in the process of putting together all the different voice mails from fans. Fans who sent in emails will get to join the fun thanks to Phil, Martha and Molly, for reading the emails and sending me the recordings. I have been asking on social media for people to send in their last minute voice mails. I think by the time I publish this on Monday, we will have at least 70 different fans wishing Bruce the happiest of birthdays. It is not to late to be part of the celebration, call 469-249-2442 and leave your name, where you are from and a message for Bruce.
The Set Lusting Bruce’s Birthday Project is coming along. I have 16 voice mails. I have another 5 emails that either I will read or find someone else to record for me. That is 21 out of my goal of 70 different fans sharing their thoughts on Bruce and wishing him a Happy Birthday. I have a few people who have said they still plan to reach out. If you are wanting to do this, please call 469-249-2442 and leave a message. Most people’s message is less than a minute. They are just saying their name, where they are from a sentence or two about their love of Bruce’s music and the wish him a Happy Birthday. I would like to have everything in by 9/6/19 to give me a couple of weeks to work on it. IF you are interested in recording your own message, send it to me as a wav, mp3 or mp4 file and I can add it to the project. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I would like this to be in your voice but if you are too shy to share, email me and I will either read it myself or find some other fans to read it for you. Thank you in advance for your help. Remember have a little faith, there is magic in the night.
I think we should call the project #70for70, at least that is the hashtag I am going to use on Twitter. We have a couple of voice mails already. Please leave a voice mail at 469-249-2442 or record your message and send it to me at email@example.com. For those of you who are bilingual, please send your message in multiple languages. If you are musician, make your 1 to 2 minute clip in a song. By the way the 1 to 2 minutes is a guideline, if you can say what you want to say in 30 seconds great! If it is going to take you 5 minutes to express yourself, no problem. The deadline is 9/1/19 so let me hear from you!
A lot of fans, newspapers, blogs, etc are doing something for Bruce’s 70th Birthday. In fact I see a new podcast is starting up. I’m wondering if we could get 70 fans to record a birthday greeting and send it to me. I would edit it and have a special podcast for his birthday. Think of this as an audio version of Springsteen & I. Any interest?
If so send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 469-249-2442. State your name, where you are from and a brief 1 to 2-minute greeting for Bruce. share why his music is important to you and wish him Happy Birthday.
If you have any questions, post them here or email me and I’ll do my best to answer them. The key is to get the request out to the Springsteen fans. So please share my request on your favorite social media websites.
